At Shumaar, we believe in creating a fair, transparent, and user-friendly experience for all our attendees and organizers. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which ticket refunds are granted, how refund requests are handled, and what users can expect during the process.
1. Refund Eligibility
We understand that plans change, emergencies happen, and preferences shift. As part of our customer-first approach, Shumaar allows ticket holders to request a refund for any reason, provided the request meets the following conditions:
✅ Situations Where Refunds Are Accepted
- Change of Plans: You can no longer attend the event due to a scheduling conflict or personal commitment.
- Mistaken Purchase: You bought the wrong ticket or accidentally made a duplicate purchase.
- Event Misinformation: The ticket was purchased based on inaccurate or misleading event information on our platform.
- Health or Personal Emergencies: Sudden illness, accident, or a critical family situation has impacted your ability to attend.
- Travel or Weather Disruptions: You are unable to reach the venue due to cancelled transportation, flooding, or extreme weather (subject to evidence).
- Other Personal Reasons: We do not require users to disclose a reason, as long as the request is made on time.
❌ Situations Where Refunds Are Not Accepted
- Refund requests submitted less than 5 days before the event.
- You attended the event in full or in part.
- You are requesting a partial refund (e.g., only one ticket from a bundle).
- Dissatisfaction with event content, performance, or production quality.
- Requests that violate our platform's terms of use or involve suspected abuse of the refund system.
🚫 No Partial Refunds
Shumaar only processes full ticket refunds. Partial refunds are not allowed under any circumstance.
2. Event Cancellations
In the unfortunate event that an organizer cancels the event, Shumaar will:
- Automatically process a full refund for all ticket holders.
- Notify ticket holders via email and/or SMS with confirmation of cancellation and refund status.
- No action is required from the customer to initiate a refund in this case.
3. Refund Deadline
To be eligible for a refund (excluding cancelled events), your request must be submitted no later than 5 days before the event start time.
- After this window closes, no refunds will be issued, regardless of the reason.
- The deadline is enforced strictly to maintain fairness for organizers and attendees.
4. Refund Processing Time
Once your refund request is submitted and approved:
- Shumaar will process the refund within three (3) business days.
- You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated.
- Depending on your bank or payment provider, the refund may take an additional 3-7 business days to reflect in your account.
5. Refund Method
All refunds will be issued using the original payment method used during the purchase. This includes:
- Credit/debit cards
- Bank transfers
- Mobile wallets or payment gateways
⚠️ Note: We do not offer cash refunds or allow refund redirection to a different account or method.
6. Non-Refundable Charges
Please note:
- Service fees, payment gateway charges, and platform commissions are non-refundable.
- These charges cover third-party processing and operational costs which are incurred at the time of purchase and cannot be reversed.
The final refund amount will reflect only the base ticket price, excluding any non-refundable fees.
7. Shumaar's Role in Refunds
Shumaar is the sole entity responsible for handling and disbursing refunds for events hosted on its platform.
- Event organizers are not involved in the refund process and cannot issue or deny refunds directly.
- All refund decisions are made by Shumaar in accordance with this policy.
